Yes, I absolutely agree with your quote. We should always prepared to calamity or disaster so many lives wouldn't have to be lost. We cannot predict when calamity came us and when it's already happen we cannot stop it, so being prepared can save lives. In order to protect ourselves from calamity we should be always prepared.

I totally agreed with you. Nothing we can do to stop Natural Disasters like what happened to you and your family before but, we can also get some knowledge/lessons from our experiences. All we can just do is to keep that learning and have more knowledge about how we can be prepared during any kind of calamities for preparedness. Also, you're right that aside from cherishing our valuable things during a calamity or disaster we should cherish our people/family the most because we couldn't bring back life again.
